National storytelling show, “Expressing Motherhood,” is coming to Louisville! The show will be at Headliners Music Hall Saturday, March 25th, 8pm, doors at 7pm. “Expressing Motherhood” is a hit, ongoing stage show that has showcased stories about motherhood onstage since 2008, and has been performed across the country – from LA to NYC, and now Louisville!

Thirteen performers will share their takes on motherhood – everything from coming out to a religious mother, getting pregnant as a teenager, choosing not to be a mother, and struggling to love an adopted child.

Several performers are regulars at Louisville’s popular Moth StorySLAM series, also at Headliners. In fact, three of the performers – Bryan Suddith, Steven Carr, and local producer Randi Skaggs – all competed in January’s Moth Grand Slam at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. Mary Furlong Coomer was invited to perform at a Moth Mainstage in NYC that was later featured on the Moth Radio Hour. At the same time, many people will be on a stage for the first time, sharing profound and honest stories of motherhood. The full cast is: April Corbin, Bryan Suddith, Jennifer Ansari, Judy Skaggs, James Watson, Mary Furlong Coomer, Mary Jo Ives, Marybeth Legler, Miriam Hans, Nora Gocking, Steven Carr, Randi Skaggs, and Shannon Noel.

Lindsay Kavet is the LA-based Co-Creator/Director/Producer of “Expressing Motherhood.” Her short film “Meg” was featured in the LA Short Film Festival. She has written for Fix the Toaster, What The FlickaShe Buys CarsMom.MeThe Friendship Dialogues, and MomsLA. She’s brought “Expressing Motherhood” to LA and several other California cities, NYC, South Dakota, Washington state, Boston, and now Louisville.
